Are a user's personal notebooks or personal information accessible by other Evernote Business users or Admins?

When you join an Evernote Business account, you retain control and ownership of your personal notebooks and personal notes, and they are not connected to or accessible in any way by any other Business user or Business Administrator, unless you take action to specifically share your note(s) or notebook(s).

Email address and personal information

Your personal information is safe with Evernote. Only your personal email address may be visible if:

  1. You share a personal notebook or note
  2. You have not yet added a business email address in your Account Settings, and you share or edit notes inside Business Notebooks
  3. You have not yet added a business email address in your Account Settings, and your Evernote Business Administrator uses the Admin Console to review a list of users in the business

See our article on why and how to add a business email address to your personal Evernote account.

Security

Evernote Business Administrators will be able to see if you have enabled two-step verification on your Evernote account and the date of your last password reset. They will not have access to see your password or details about additional verification methods. We have made this information accessible to Administrators so they can review the security of company data that resides on users' devices.
