Easy collaboration for creativity
Whiteboard sessions are meant to be collaborative, so it feels counterproductive when the team spends as much time feverishly recreating the whiteboard sketches in their notebooks as participating in discussions. Aviary uses Evernote to help keep ideas from disappearing.
"There was always a fear that important ideas might get erased and lost, but now with Evernote they have an easy way to capture it all forever."
Michael Galpert, Founder, Aviary.com
Multi-task projects can be managed and collaborated on inside Evernote. Users and groups can catalog every step of any given project, from quick meeting notes (text and audio), whiteboard snapshots, mock-ups, to development and completion.
Whether someone is in a meeting or has a creative burst in transit, designers can share and review on a laptop, iPhone, iPad, iPod, or Android immediately, even when he or she is offline. Because each note is date and time stamped automatically, designers are able to create a visual timeline of events to continuously develop upon the creativity.
The Aviary team uses Evernote as a key part of their whiteboard/brainstorming process. They sketch everything out, then take a snapshot with Evernote for instant reference – no attachments or tags needed. Evernote makes all of this content completely searchable, even finding text within images.
As an added bonus, Evernote’s image recognition technology processes all of those snapshots and makes the handwritten text searchable, so it’s easy to find all of those great ideas. For maintaing a centralized, searchable inspiration system, team members can search for text within the whiteboard snapshots.
Michael set up his business inside Evernote, and the administration features allowed him to pay for all of Aviary.com's employee accounts from one bill and gave all employees the benefits of Evernote.
