Scanning Color Documents in Gray or Black & White

The ScanSnap can automatically detect the color mode (color, gray, or black & white) of a document and save the scanned image in the detected color mode.

To scan a color document and save the scanned image in gray or black & white, change the settings in the following procedure.

  1. Click Settings Icon in the pop-up menu and select [Settings].

    The [ScanSnap Manager Evernote Edition] Window ([General] Tab) appears.

  2. Select [Gray] or [B&W] for [Color mode] in the following tabs.

    • [Documents] tab

    • [Business Cards] tab

    • [Receipts] tab

    • [Photographs] tab

    HINT

    [B&W] can be selected only when [PDF] is specified for [File format] in the [Documents] tab.

  3. Close the [ScanSnap Manager Evernote Edition] window.

  4. Load a document in the ScanSnap.

  5. Press the Scan button on the ScanSnap to start a scan.

    The scanned image is saved in gray or black & white.
