How to Recover the ScanSnap When It Is Automatically Turned Off and How to Configure the Power Setting

When the ScanSnap is turned on and left unused for the specified time (default is "After 4 hours"), it will turn itself off automatically.

In such a case, perform one of the following operations.

  • To continue using the ScanSnap

    Reset the time until auto power-off by performing one of the following:

    • Load a document in the ScanSnap

    • Press the Scan button on the ScanSnap

    • Close the ADF paper chute (cover) and open it again

  • To turn on the ScanSnap

    Perform one of the following operations:

    • Press the Scan button on the ScanSnap

    • Close the ADF paper chute (cover) and open it again

    HINT
    • When the power of the ScanSnap is turned off, pressing the Scan button on the ScanSnap does not start scanning.

    • To disable auto power-off, select [Off] for [Auto power off] in the [General] tab of the [ScanSnap Manager Evernote Edition] window.

  • To change the power setting of the ScanSnap

    You can change the time until the ScanSnap automatically turns off, or set the ScanSnap to not automatically turn off.

    Perform the following procedure to change the power setting of the ScanSnap:

    1. Click Settings Icon in the pop-up menu and select [Settings].

      The [ScanSnap Manager Evernote Edition] window appears.

    2. Click the [General] tab.

    3. Change the setting for [Auto power off].

      • When [After 1 hour], [After 2 hours], [After 4 hours], or [After 8 hours] is selected

        When the ScanSnap is turned on and left unused for the specified time, it will turn itself off automatically.

      • When [Off] is selected

        The ScanSnap is not automatically turned off.

      ATTENTION

      There may be up to a few minutes of time difference between the time specified for [Auto power off] and the actual time when the ScanSnap is automatically turned off.

    4. Close the [ScanSnap Manager Evernote Edition] window.

      The setting is applied.
